Need "C" Mouldings - What Happened to "Junkyard Wishlist?"

Hey...what happened to the "Junkyard Wish List" thread?

I am looking for a good set of interior back panels that surround the seat belt assemblies in RED. I think Ford called this a "C Post" moulding.

These were found in the upscale "Lariat" models.

I un-stuck that thread over a year ago because of lack of participation - particularly from people who would go to the JY and maybe find stuff that people were looking for.

In my experience, finding anything 80-86 in the JY is pretty rare anymore....

I think you should accept ANY in ANY color you can get (assuming somebody has some), paint them with SEM if they're not the right color.

You're right about the rarity of the 1980-1986 trucks in the junkyard anymore. I have noticed a HUGE decrease in parts trucks in my area over the past 3 years or so. It's hard to believe 1986 was almost THIRTY years ago.

I see what you are saying about accepting ANY color, but I really insist on panels that are molded in red. Although SEM is fantastic stuff, the panels really need to be the same color that they are painted. If not, the color underneath WILL show if/when you scratch the paint off.

If anybody happens to find any, please PM me!

There are still quite a few 80-86's in the junkyards in my area. I am lucky that way, but nervous for the day when I can't just go grab parts for cheap. I try my best to help out others on this forum and "save" as many uncommon and desirable parts as I can... but I can't save everything.

There was someone else here recently looking for those rear cab corner trim pieces. I can find those in my junkyards, but in Arizona the heat and UV are not kind to interior plastics, so most of what I find is faded dried out plastic parts. They could probably be cleaned up and painted in a pinch but are far from being restoration quality as-is. The other problem is shipping cost because of the size. I got a rude awakening regarding that when I went to ship a light but large box with a turbo down pipe in it. If yours are completely gone and can't be refurbished I can probably come up with something, but probably not what you were hoping to find.

Edit: I know of a red interior XLT that has them but they are faded... They would need painted for sure.

Thanks for trying to help, Ford F834.

I am doing a total restoration on my 1985 F150 Lariat. So I fully expect to repaint the panels. In fact, I have already painted all the rest of my interior pieces with SEM (color matched) Canyon Red. My existing door panels and "C" pillars were just too beat up. I found some very good replacement door panels a few years ago that I completely repainted and restored, but I can't seem to find any good "C" pillars. That's because I can't find any 1980 - 1986 Ford trucks in the junkyards anymore.

I can restore them if they are only faded. I would like to start off with a set from 1984 - 1986 (Canyon Red). Ideally, the panels won't have any cracks or scuffs and all the grain is still present. If I can find a set like that, I can make them look new again with the SEM paint.

Keep me posted; I am interested.

You mean theses?

1976 1979 Ford Pickup Truck Seat Belt Retractor Covers 76 79 Pickup | eBay

I don't know why they say '76 to 79. That is the exact same in my '82 and I doubt they would interchange with a '80 to '86 truck.

Those are for a non-headliner truck. I know Ford optioned their trucks strangely sometimes but the kind I am thinking he needs for an XLT are the floor to ceiling curved corner moldings.

That's right. I need the floor to ceiling panels that were found on the XL and XLT Lariat models.
