2000 F-250 acting up while driving.
My bosses 2000 F-250 with the 7.3 and 426000 miles on it has been acting up. He went to start it the other morning and it hads bad batteries so he jumped it. It fired right up but as soon as he got out it died and wouldnt restart. He went and changed the fuel filter....which had 77000 miles on it.....no luck. I came and looked at it and saw the fuse for the fuel heater had blown. Replaced the fuse and it blew again. Unplugged the heater and it didnt blow again and started. It idled super rough. he drove it and had no turbo response and I discovered all the vacuum line ends where shot. I fixed those and ran a can of seafoam through the filter housing and everything is back to normal. Except at 1400-1600 rpms. The truck shakes almost like an out of balance tire. But its only at that rpm range. Ive tried down shifting and speeding up to that rpm and it still does it. His tires are a little on the wore out side and it does need ball joints bad but he seems certian its at the rpm not the mph. Which makes me think its something with the motor. Yet it dosent shake just revving it up in park. Im totally baffled. Any ideas?

There are about 10-15 things that it could easily be. A code reader and the ability to log data will be a huge help for us and you won't start throwing parts at the problem.
