I have att for my internet provider and I am getting so sick and tired of the lousy service they are providing. They use to provide really good service but now it's slow, I keep getting "page unavailable" error when I email more than a couple of addresses at the same time. Anyone have a good provider? Will not go with AOL though.
You probably need to check with other users in your area because performance can vary from area to area. For instance I have a friend on Ohio that has Road Runner cable internet and thinks it's great. I've heard other people say that Road Runner is no good.
You also need to figure out if you want 56K dial up or high speed (DSL or cable) that transfers at 780K or faster, but cost about $50.00 per month.
In some places DSL is cheaper than dialup, figure in how much time you spend on the net, what you do on the net, , what you want out of it. Do you play games and stuff, do you view high resolution photos or whatever. I don't think I could ever live with dial up again.
I have Bresnan digital Cable. it runs faster than my computer can process the info. i have it because I play a lot of games.
whatever you do, do not get Bellsouth DSL.. I got it and it so about the same speed as a 56K or slower, AND IT KICKS ME OFF JUST ABOUT EVERY 15 MINUTES!
Here at work we have RoadRunnerBusiness. At home I use usadatanet , just signed up with them a couple of weeks ago and so far they are great. Cheap compared to what AT&T wanted here.
