Did the o/d light flash? Did you pull codes? I'd start there. Assuming you e4od of course. My 94 would act up and limp mode. Changed vss, connector for vss, checked all connectors trans related. Pulled psom from behind dash visually checked it, put it back, and knock on wood it fixed it. Most problems with these are electrical from what I've read and experienced.

Is it a 3 speed (c6) or 3 speed with overdrive (e4od)?

No codes is a bad thing. At the very least you should gotten the System Pass code of 111 for the Key On Engine Off (KOEO) tests and the same for Continuous Memory (stored codes).

Please clarify.

It isn't possible when the engine is running. It is very possible with the engine off. But once the engine starts the torque converter refills and it isn't a problem when shifting.

When you checked the fluid level you had the trans warmed up and the engine was idling in park, right? If not, your reading is meaningless.

Yes the truck was running and yes the trans was warm so how else would the pan be way over full when I didn't add fluid to do this

Is the trans fluid nice and red? Or is it a light pink? If it's pink, you may have a leak in the cooler in the radiator, that could over fill the trans pretty quick..

BTW How does the trans fluid smell?

Have you added any coolant lately?

The truck leaks coolant from the radiator and the trans oil is kinda pink and it's like fizzy?

Pink, fizzy ATF usually means coolant is leaking into the transmission. That's usually a death sentence for the transmission.

Yes, and change the trans fluid. If it hand had too much coolant it might be salvageable.
