Well I mounted my CD player but it seems there is nothing to hold it in, so if anyone wanted to steal it they could just grab it and pull it out. I got a kit to do it with like 10 pieces, but the instructions only had me use one (it's for many different modles of cars).. Has anyone ran into this problem and made their own anti-theft device so no one could just grab it or is this just normal?
push the tabs up on the sleve and push the deck all the way in It should lock in to the sleave but a good thef can still get it out with out the deck keys just cut the dash pull the deck and run. The best secruity is no one knwing what you have .take off the detachable face if you have one. makes it a little more work they have to do to get it to work (don't leave in the vehicle) . After seeing what has happen to my friend I'll leave the stock in there and get a cd changer or buy a cheap deck like a used one for about 30 -50 dollars that way nobody will waste there time with my truck
yeah, if somebody wanted to steal your cd player then they would find a way to do it if they can get in the car. i try not to advertise my merchandise by not putting window stickers that would attract any nearby thiefs. the detachable face is a good feature and i usually take mine off if parked in a parking lot for a long period of time.
I should say if you have subs do not turn them up so everybody can here them. That is a form of advertising I have heard of people following people home just to jack their stuff. because they heard it booming in the nieghborhood or crusing around town.
Maybe my gunrack will scare them enough, but I was thinking more along the lines of triggerin an siren or something if it was removed - anyone ever try that?
