if you take it to a shop have them also check the rear leaf spring bushings and shocks.
I know you say it is loose steering and it likely is, but the Ex has a habit of letting the tail wag the dog.

Loose Steering???
I had similar issues and it would give a weird wobble feedback at times, felt loose like a gear box, but it was all tight liftng it up
Take out your 4x hub's and then check it out in the air
Scale joint was siezed and wore the inside of the hub that it would eventually bind so much the 4x hub would engage ripping the wheel for your hand
But, joints, seals, bearings, calipers, rotors, brackets, hoses, pads while i was in there
Good for another 150k
