Wheel lug studs
But it was the first time on this kind of hub. After heating and bashing the heck out of the studs I see a little oring affair that seems to be holding the studs in place. Are these the swedges refered to in the Mac catalog? If they are how is the best way to remove them without giving Mac a big jag of money for their tool? I was told decades ago that self abuse would make you go blind, after the way I trashed those studs, I think I may believe them. A big thanks to Tacomacream I purchased that manual on ebay

They are also sold on ebay for less. Tapping with a hammer is ok. Bashing will lead to problems.
You could resell the tool after you use it.

I have not encountered the swedging of the studs before. As a matter of fact this is the first encounter with a banjo rear end. I ran into the keyed years ago on the old Dodge cars and trucks. With that being do you pack grease into the rear wheel bearings in the hub before you put them back on?
