About these wheel studs...

Two of the eight on one rear hub have damaged threads. Can I run a die over them (in place) or do I have to remove the hub and bang them out? TIA.

my truck came with locked lugs on 3 wheels (one each) and no key.

I smacked em with a sledgehammer and the snapped off. (i know brutal but the air chisle wasnt working and my nerves were shot)

Poping the old studs out isnt hard, a center punch and some blaster oil and *pop*

And ya put a new stud in.

Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to avoid the r&r of the axle, hub, and seal. The problem, as I see it, is that a conventional T-handle die tool will not turn past the hub. I think I'm contemplating a tool which might resemble a die inside a deep socket. Does such a thing exist?

i dont know if I would trust a retapped stud....i get nerved out with patched stuff.

think of it this way, you'll know you have fresh seals and new studs.
