I would get an oil analysis done after a few thousand miles just to be sure all is well internally; honestly, they should have sent the remaining 1.5 courts out to be analyzed. If bad things happened, the evidence was in that oil. Good luck, my heart goes out to you!!

This sounds like a very good idea! It might detect any damage before the engine has a catastrophic failure. I wonder if the dealership would consider the results of those tests if they showed the engine was starting to fail.
