Go buy a haynes manual, and find the wire for the factory tach where it comes out of the firewall in that big bundle... My 2000 was a tan/yellow, but your '93 is probably a little different.

Check this link out...I have a 93 w/ a 2.3 4cyl DIS dual coil motor...i burned up one tach a while back trying to put one on mine, got a new one and shocked the heck out of myself...then i gave up. I just found this site:
