Widening rear fender 3rd attempt

If you've been following my build thread, you will know that my first fender was garbage because I was welding with 100% argon. And didn't know it. The second fender turned out pretty good I welded in a 3 inch strip. This fender I want to cut two rear fenders and weld the two together to make it wider fender. The front looks pretty good but the back has such a big taper but I'm not sure how to attack this. Any ideas? I want to just weld one bead instead of two like the 3 inch filler piece. And I'm not running a Bead, just tacks. Maybe make some pie cuts on the inside piece and pull that flange out?

Measured a whole bunch, tacked it In, I'm pretty happy with it. I'll tackle the rear when I have more time

How much of a valley is there where you meeting on the top? after you weld are you going to hammer/dolly that out? on the rear, don't you need to cut and stretch (and strip) across flange piece.

If you put a flat edge perpendicular to your cut/weld line is there a low spot? it looks like there is a low spot there...

No, the front and middle line up perfect. The rear is way off.

is widening the fender mostly just for looks? It seems way easier to just tub the bed for wider tires. School me please...

Yes and no. I have a wider rear end, with my rims and tires, I didn't have to tub the bed. But I had to widen rear fenders. Personally, I didn't want the tubbed bed look. And I like the wide lookin fenders

Are you running really wide tires, or is this just required because of the wide axle and rim offset of the donor stuff you have? Stock running running boards or are you fabbing something? You are doing a good job BTW. The rear looks a little tricky but you'll get it with lots of patience.

My rear tires are 295. Rims are 20x10 chip foose nitrous. I'm gonna make a little triangle piece for my running boards to finish the look
