I haven't found any sources in Google so I was hoping someone here might know. Anyone know which port to use for the shift modulator on the Holley carbs? I have one that is full vac, but I'm not sure if that is the right one to use and the others are used or labeled for something else.
I finally found someone on 460ford that had a similar problem and it looks like they said that you can hook it up to a manifold vac source, which should mean full vac on the carb. Anyone have any info to confirm or dispute this? TIA
The shift modulator on the C6 trans, I need to find out what kind of vacuum source it needs so that I can hook it up correctly to the Holley, or the manifold if necessary.
Well the problem is that the Holley's rear fuel bowl partially covers the manifold vacuum port on the Edelbrock, so I'm going to have to use the carb since the OEM vacuum tree is too tall, has too many ports, and I'm too broke to get vacuum plugs or a new port. If it requires full vacuum then there should be no reason that I can't hook it up to the full vacuum port on the Holley which I think is the same size vacuum port as the shift modulator. I'll update when I get it hooked up.
Well, that is odd. I have an edelbrock performer intake on 84 with 351 and Holley 600 and there is tons of room behind the carb for the vacuum tee. From that vacuum tree runs my vacuum booster for brakes and line to my C-6 automatic. And another line than runs to some vacuum thing under the brake master cylinder, best I recall. I'd think any port on the Holley is ported vacuum and not full manifold vacuum therefore your vacuum modulator valve on trans will see differing vacuums and perform erratically? Do you have a spacer plate under you Holley that has a vacuum port plug on it that you could use maybe?

From my EFI 1988 5.8l ... I would think "Full" Vacuum from the maifold or a "full"vacuum port from the Carb. Mine gets it's vacuum from the plenum.
