Hello I'm a little confused on the towing weight my truck can handle and would like some info..
I have a 2015 f150 xlt ecoboost 2.7L the sticker inside the door says GVWR (6500lb). Does this mean I can only pull things not greater than this weight?
That is the amount of weight your truck can carry inside the bed and the cab including fuel, etc. It is not the amount you can tow. Go to this link for the towing guide from Ford for you truck - RV & Trailer Towing Guides | fleet.ford.com
Now with that I am given 3 GCWRs 12,500, 12,700, 12,800
How do I know which am I? Regardless I'm guessing my GVWR (6500) and the weight of the camper (5140) is what's called the GCWR. Those 2 weights equal 11,640. Which puts me under the max load. Right?
Yes, you are under your weight limits. The thing you have to careful of is the published weight for RVs can be right on the money or way off, so actually weighing your rig is always a good idea. Make sure you are using the GW of your camper and not the empty box weight in your calculations.
You will probably be transferring about 15% of the weight of you camper to the hitch on your truck, though you will know that for sure only if you weigh it. I am guessing you know a weight distribution hitch will be necessary to help keep things pointed the right direction as you go down the road.
towing guides are specific to the motor, gear ratio and then type of truck. Crew cab, Super cab or regular cab.
So you have to drill down in the guide to find your specifics.
To know your true capacity you need to weight the truck and your contents you would normally carry.
Pay attention to the axle ratings on the door cert and don't exceed those or the tire rating on the sidewall of the tires. Whichever is the lowest number.
Most of use in this forum are towing fairly heavy. I am not sure if anyone here is towing with an Ecoboost although many folks surely are.
Bite your tongue sir!
Anyway, sounds like the OP got his answer. I will echo the suggestion to take the rig to the scales. I find it calming to KNOW my weights instead of guessing. Can be helpful for sent up the WD bars as well.
I have a city garbage dump that has a scale I wonder if I can go weigh it there. Besides the semi truck weigh stations on the highway, where else can I weigh my rig?

Best of luck!
I didn't know you were towing with an Ecoboost. I really can see the appeal.
