What's wrong with towing a travel trailer with an f150 ecoboost
Nobody said there is anything wrong with it.
But since you asked, I'll tell you -
the F150 doesn't have nearly as much leg room as the F250.
There, I said it!
I have a 07 Ford Expedition I am trying to toe a 29' camper having trouble with the truck driving like I am on ice ( very unsafe feeling ) don't want to go over 55 or 60. I have tried 2 different Equalizer hitches with no luck truck trailer are level . I was wondering if the problem is because of Independent rear suspension ? Need Help Jack.
Jack, have you taken this rig to a CAT scale to get the axle weights? That would be my first step.
1) take weight of expedition without trailer attached
2) attach trailer and get axle weights WITHOUT any WD bars or equalizer system engaged.
3) attach WD bars like normal and get weights a third time.
May need set 3b, 3c etc as you adjust the bars. But if youjust do seps 1,2,3 and post the weights, folks here can help a lot.
I had a very spooky steering feel once when towing without a WD hitch. It was from inadequate weight over the steering axle, and it went away one I had the WD equipment installed and adjusted using the procedure above.
There is also a procedure using a tape measure if you aren't able to get to a CAT scale. Apparently it works fine as well, but I like the scale method.
