Pics and questions

OK here is the truck I was given but needs an engine. 2003 FX4.

Has this been lifted or leveled?

Going to need some seals

No way this came with a single core?

It's worth putting an engine in? 4.6 123K on the odometer. I plan to replace anything sketch looking when I get the engine out. IE rusty cooler lines. Rad.
One problem I have given it a try to turn it over with a wrench and bar. If it will not turn will it come out with the converter on it? It's a little rusty under the front because it was sitting tires flat, leaves. Is it time for ball joints, tie rods, upper A arms. Definitely shocks, still has the original ranchero's.

I have nearly the same unit, only mine is 02' with a 5.4 & 6.5' box.
from the pic it appears yours has a full sized box.

Yes it is worth fixing...if the frame or cab isn't all rusted through, some surface rust is normal. Just so it isn't flaking big chucks off.

It doesn't appear to have a lift on it,( looks pretty standard for FX4 package)....maybe prior owner cranked the torsion bars to level out the front?

Before you condemn the engine, to aid in turning it over you may have to remove the spark plugs and then try get it to turn over with a wrench & bar. What does the oil look like?

The radiator looks pretty standard, about 1"to1-1/4"wide... if it has the tow package on it, look in front of the radiator, there should be the A/C condenser, (which can bee seen) and in front of that smaller transmission cooler on one side and on the other side power steering cooler.

I did replace my original Rancho shocks with new Rancho and it is not the same ride ( even though it was claimed to be the exact same shock).
I suggest going with Bilstiens

Thanks for the reply. Yes it is long box, and has two oil coolers. On lift the question came because the way the inner wheel looks. Just never expected to see straight to the engine. I think there is a few small rust spots under cab. Nothing on the bodywork.

Now that the weather is cold and busy with Christmas, I don't think I'm going to get started for a few months. That is killing me. I'm a busy type and would love to be working on it. I'm not sure a regular cherry picker is going to do it. Plan to lower it or take tires off when ready.

It would be nice if motor was not dead, but I put a good size wrench on it and it did not move. I did not try to turn it backward as I was able to with the other truck I was working on. They parked it for a reason, It would be nice if it was just something stupid.
