What would you all suggest would be good all around manual for my 42 half ton? Also I would love to start posting pictures, where do I go to learn how?
A '42 might be somewhat difficult to find info on unless you look into some Army Technical manuals. Or you can look here for some more suggestions.
I post pictures using Photobucket. Once your loaded up there, you select what picture you want to post and it will copy the link for you. Then come here and paste the link. That should work unless I forgot a step.
I always use photbucket too. It's a little more tedious but I don't have to resize and the people on forums see the big picture instead of having to click every thumbnail. I'm not sure on FTE but most forums you have to have your camera set on pretty low resolution or the pics are too big.
You can find reprints of the shop manual from most old Ford places. Are you looking for a shop manual to work on the truck, or more like an owner's manual with more basic information?
For working on your truck, the reprint of the factory manual will be very helpful. And if you ever get hung up on something, ask here. There is a ton of collecting knowledge amongst all the folks here. Feel free to post, welcomes are rarely ever worn out here.
Have a 1950 Motors Manual repair book that I picked up from that auction site. It has data on many makes and brakes and carbs going back to the 1930s, it's real good as a supplement to the shop manuals. It's more generalized info but any mechanic will learn something from these. Nothing much has really changed, they just hang a lot of BS on the systems to make troubleshooting way more complicated than it needs to be, and cram everything in so it's nearly impossible to get at.
Thank you for all of your kind replies! I have an old digital camera that I dug up and put the charger on. But a friend of mine was showing me his smart phone yesterday and his picture taking abilities. I am thinking that is the way to go for me. Are most of you using the smart phones?

I use both. For a quick snap, the phone. For some better quality/size out comes the camera.
