Super Duty for when SHTF

hello folks, I am a new owner of a 2009 F-250 Super Duty. I traded in my little car, and city living for the country life. I feel like things are getting out of hand in our country. Don't get me wrong I love this country, and served this county in the U.S. army. I am not on this forum for that. I am here for info on making my new love into the ultimate bug out vehicle. I always said I was a Chevy guy, but since I got my F-250 that changed. So any advice on upping performance, or off-road essentials would be great. Thanks for your time.

I would think adding extra fuel tanks would be the most important thing you could add

Get to know what you've got, your truck, first. Add-ons won't help if you don't know how to fix, bypass, jury-rig, keep it going when there isn't someone else to fix it. Get shop manuals, buy essential parts that will be needed but probably can't be acquired, and protect it now against rust and the elements.

if it's a diesel you might want to delete the emissions stuff because it will give you problems sooner or later.

And given what he calls **** hits… Where does he get costly parts?
This is about getting to a bug out site
I dont buy into this all
But fuel will be what is needed…
But fun to hear what other think is important..

Top-mounted machine guns
Smoke Screen kit (Or just take off the seals from your injectors. Does the same thing)
Oxygen masks
High pipe exhaust and high-mount air intake system
Bullet Proof glass
Push bar with death spikes on the front
Camo paint job
Lasers out of every body panel
Rocket launcher, front, rear, side, top, bottom, out the tires
Tree-in-a-bag air freshener (CRITICAL)

That will make a pretty decent start to a bug out vehicle.

it means flee - like when the crap hits the fan and people plan on abandoning their homes to go to flee to a safer place.

SO many people say they are going to flee their homes or "bug out" to the wildness - there is going to be a traffic jam in the woods.

If you traded your car in and already moved to the country, you don't need a "bug out" vehicle do you? You're already there I thought. Maybe get your old car back?

What you really want is a horse or even a mule. I live in a rural state, and lots of farmers and ranch types drive cars out in the country, on the gravel. Sure, everybody's got a pickup, but I think they want to save on fuel if anything.

If you already live in the country you don't need a truck. You are already where you need to be. A small dirt bike would be a better option for just getting around. They are realitivly cheap, run forever on a tank of gas, and if you get stuck you can pick it up and carry it.

We live in the country and if "it" hits the fan, I really don't plan on going anywhere...unless its for a beer run
