Pickups top list as most stolen
A couple of weeks ago I posted about a F-350 being stolen twice in one morning. Now data shows pickups at the top as most stolen vehicle in Canada. Hope you have good insurance.

The reason the f250 and 350 are the most commonly stolen vehicles in both the US and Canada is the ease of stealing them (up until 2008)
Before 2008, all you need is a flathead screwdriver to steal any super duty ford. There's no chip in the key.
My truck is a stolen and recovered vehicle. Its a 2006 f250. Insurance gave the truck a theft salvage title and a dealership in AZ bought it at auction. It had some engine problems when they got it, so they fixed it up before listing it for sale. The result is me buying a truck for about $5,000 less than a similar clean title truck. I've put nearly 20,000miles on it and it runs and tows like a champ.

Btw, i found out my truck has some sort of aftermarket anti-theft system in it when i had my new exhaust installed. If you unlocked the door with the key and then start it with the key, the horn freaks out and it won't start. I either have to use the remote or the keypad on the door to unlock it if i don't want to make a scene. The guys who installed the exhaust (i only left them the key) were not impressed lol
Another reason pickup trucks are commonly stolen is for "anonymous" home break-ins or the theft of trailers/boats. If someone writes down their plates or snags a picture, the stolen truck they are using isn't related to them. Also, the bed makes for plenty of storage for stolen goods.
Arrggh i hate theives. I work hard for a living and have had things stolen. It sucks. Luckily, a vehicle hasn't been one of them. I am not a violent person, but if i caught someone in the act of stealing my stuff, especially my truck, there would be blood shed and/or bones broken.
Okay, rant over.
