Is there a "special tool" to remove the clips for the headlights on a 2000 Ranger?
When I put in new bulbs, I wound up using a curved set of force and needle nose pliers. My ranger was missing one bulb retainer and one clip. On top of that I broke one retainer. I've got new parts in hand, just wondering if there's a easier way to remove the headlights?
I cannot speak for your 2000 but my 2005 the clips just pull up by hand and the light will come out to allow bulb replacement. You have to align up the pegs in the correct slot going back together but can look at the other side and see what needs to take place. I have worked on a few trucks that the bulb retainer ring was missing and always wonder why?
Good luck
Bob
I'd be willing to bet that they are the same. I tried pulling them straight out with a pair of needle nose pliers. Couldn't get them to move without spreading them out first. Putting them back in was a breeze though.
