I got the alternator out of my sister's escape, had one stud, one nut and two bolts left. Went to advance auto and got a remanned one, also, advance has a 20% off coupon over $50 purchase if you guys need to buy some parts, worked well for me today!
Here's some pictures, can you spot the alternator?

how about now?

Look at all this crap! Exhaust, sway bar link, tie rod end, caliper, rotor, splash guard, cv shaft, all removed, knuckle disconnected from the strut, sub frame unbolted and dropped.

I'll probably start putting it back together tomorrow.
Have a great weekend guys. We are still battling croup with our little girl. Hopefully we've passed the worst of it. We have my wife's family Christmas dinner at Max Downtown this evening. Usually a decent time.
I'll start putting the alternator in today, it'll go back together pretty smoothly I think, I'm only doing a bit at a time, between working and the little free time I have, should be done by sunday evening, or tonight if I am feeling ambitious.
Other than that, it's running as it should! Alternator from hell!
Josiah, water mist was what we used years ago when it started to gain usage. Hope little one gets better soon. It can be miserably uncomfortable for them.
My pampered puppies get a few days this week at dogie day care. Took them out about 20 minutes ago and it is extremely warm out there. And now I'm up and they are snoring around me in the office.
Took Kathy out last night to look at Christmas lights. There aren't a lot out there, but when you found some the entire area had them. But a lot of places that used to don't any more.
Josiah and Tom I hope your girls get better quick, I hate when kids are sick and not at their best.
My son and I went fishing on Fri. up on the Housatonic river in Derby.
We only got 4 striper's but we went back up today and got about 50-60 of them in about 6hrs but no keepers just schooles that are about 18"-27". We had a ball.

Tom where did you got the shop manual for you Odyssey ?

I have the full 4 books for my truck and they help a lot. I had to replace the clock spring in the steering wheel last year and it walked me right through it.
Got up at 3:30 am yesterday and drove to Burlington, Vermont. Towed the 2014 Zinger by Cross roads up. Took my time and beat all the traffic up. The weather co-operated and we were there by 9:15 am. Didn't get out of there until 2:30 pm. with the new 2014 Gateway 5th wheeler. Weather held out and we made it to Massachusetts and mist more than rain the rest of the way back.
The in bed hitch worked fine and we only had to raise it 3 notches and it was set. Had them put on a leveling bubble.
Have a few pictures only have to figure how to get them posted.

FROM THE NEWSROOM: An East Putnam man who chose to drive his burning pickup truck more then ten miles Sunday night while it was still on fire suffered minor injuries, according to Putnam Deputy Fire Marshal Rick Hayes.
Hayes says the driver, who has not been named, noticed the fire in the bed of his truck on I-395 Southbound around Exit 50 (or old exit 99), but decided not to call emergency services until he had arrived at his home on East Putnam Road in East Putnam an estimated ten to fifteen miles away.
At one point, the heat from the fire caused the glass window on the back of the truck's cab to shatter, burning the operator's neck, according to reports that Hayes had received.
Hayes says the driver was transported to an area hospital by a private party for treatment.
An investigation determined the source of the fire came from tires being transported in such a way that they were up against the diesel truck's exhaust pipes.
“I would think that if you notice a fire in your vehicle, you should pull to the side of the road and get out of your vehicle, and call the emergency personnel,” said Hayes, who wants the public to know there are more appropriate ways for a driver to handle this sort of situation. “It just seems strange that the person drove that far.”
We asked Hayes – who is also the local Police Chief – if there are any criminal charges such as reckless endangerment that a driver could face when making such a dangerous choice as to continue operating a vehicle that's in flames.
“Not from a fire marshal's standpoint. We don't have anything to do with those violations,” was Hayes's response.
Hayes estimates the call for the fire came in around 10:15 p.m. Sunday night, and says the East Putnam Fire Department extinguished the blaze.

Glad to hear you got the new camper John! What do you think of how it pulls compared to the conventional trailer you used to have?
Wow Todd, that's amazing. Drove a burning truck for 15 miles. Such a waste, but it sounds like he made a series of poor decisions that led up to that. I'm guessing he had stacks, so perhaps it needed to be put out of its misery.
