Quick question, I have a 84 F250 6.9 Turbo Diesel with a crappy body. Motor runs strong but the frame was cut to accommodate a hay hauler and doesn't have a bed or tail lights.
I wanted to see if i bought a 1986 F350 Dually Gas powered rig that has a blown motor would it be doable/worth swapping the motors?
If the gas truck is a 460 rig, it does all bolt together, but it's still not a small project if you want it all to work as factory. You need to use the diesel trans or bellhousing if its a stick as well.
I have done my own gas cab on a diesel swap, as well as a 460 to diesel re-power on an 88, and both included complete harness swaps. None of it is really custom work, but it is no small project.
