Now that I can finally get some needed parts for my ex, I have created a list of what I want and was hoping to get peoples opinions and recommendations.
New headers (and exhaust?)
5star tune
ATS c code springs
interior carpet
high output alternator
I am interested in the banks system, but might be to rich for my budget.
I have the v10, so is there an alternative to the banks system or can i piece something together?
Before you spend your Christmas cash on carpet, have you tried washing yours ?
Ford used remarkably high quality carpet and it comes clean very nicely using a pressure washer ( or a car wash ) and some Super Clean applied with a nylon brush and a bit of elbow grease.
I would have sworn mine was toast. Turned out almost as good as new and better then the aftermarket carpet would have been in my opinion.
Was an easy Saturday project and I even scrubbed the leather and detailed all the trim work.
It's worth a try, you have to take it out anyhow. Might as well spend a little time pressure washing it. Worst case you throw a seat back in, order your carpet and finish the job a few days latter.
Another vote for washing your carpet. Worked wonders on my old Galant VR-4. I'd say soak it with Simple Green or any type of cleaner and then hit it with the pressure washer. Let it dry thoroughly before you put it back. While the interior is out, it would be a great time for new speakers or running wires for an amp if that interests you, or maybe add some more sound deadening. When the carpet is clean, I would say get some floor mats.... I have Weather Techs up front and Husky Liners in the middle, rear, and cargo area. About $400 to have protection for the whole rig, but worth it in my opinion.

Good call on making sure it dries before putting it back in. The felt backing holds a lot of water, I draped mine over a saw horse and let it sit out over night. it was dry by the next day. ( hot summer temps ) a carpet blower would probably help if it isn't a hot day when you do yours.
I love simple green but it wasn't getting my stains out so I went for drastic measures and used Super Clean. Available by the gallon at your parts store.... It will take oil out of your concrete driveway !!!!
I had a bunch of Dynomat left over from another project and did my floor. There are better sound barriers then Dyno mat if you are going out and buying it for this purpose.

Anyone put that system on their v10?
The system is overpriced and nothing special, the headers themselves are a worth while addition in my opinion.

I think that you would be better off just getting the Banks headers and then using a stock-ish exhaust (3" mandrel bent, like the factory stuff) and a decent performance muffler (I like the Aeroturbine 3030XL, that is on my Christmas list).

Banks header kits are about $1200
When I was shopping and got my Banks headers (Black Friday sale at AutoAnything for $890-ish, best deal I've ever seen on these.) I had Banks get down to 20% off their list price and free shipping. Get the best price you can find online and then call them and beat on them (nicely ) to work towards a price match, in my case the AA deal was still a few bucks cheaper but Banks was willing to play ball.

Onboard air system and bags are on my list as well, what are you thinking so far? I haven't really started to put a parts list together just yet.
