99 f250 sd how hard to change front pinion bearing?
Well, im getting a vibration In 4x4, pinion seals leaking and it has a little bit of movement. I have done a pinion bearing in a crown vic I had before. But not a dana 50. What am I in for, I searched but couldn't find a step by step , how long does it take a back yard guy. Thanks guys

I seem to remember @aldridgec did a thread recently about resealing his front axle. That's the most in-depth front differential thread I can find.

You can expect 4-5 hours, or more if you have rusty parts, to tear down the front differential. Fortunately there isn't any need to reset the gear mesh with just a bearing replacement. Technically a Dana axle should have a case spreader to release the preload on the carrier bearings, but a D50/60 can be done without it usually. If you did use it, you would probably need to remove the axle from the truck, as the leaf springs would get in the way of the spreader on one side. You will need a very large amount of torque to collapse the crush sleeve to set bearing preload.
