Hello

Hello everyone. I am Steve. I recently bought my first classic vehicle. It is A 1977 F100 stepside, regular cab custom. Low miles, very little rust, 302 V8. Seems to be all original. So far, I have replaced all the fuel lines and the gas tank, carburetor, and master cylinder. There was A factory hole in the hood but no ornament, so I installed an aftermarket hood ornament. I will look for the correct ornament. Looking forward to lots more work on the old girl.

Welcome to FTE and congrats on what sounds like a great truck find. Most of us here live for pictures so please post up what you have and then take some more. Join up with your local chapter too as having friends close by is a very good thing.

Welcome. Sounds like a fun truck. I’m guessing that the hood ornament was an “Explorer” one. If you have a bit of spending money, you can order a Marti report ( Martiauto.com ) to find out all of the original options.

X2 on welcome to FTE. The most common OEM hood ornament was the Explorer one that came on trucks with the Explorer package.
A repop ornament. https://www.cjponyparts.com/explorer...RoCr8YQAvD_BwE

Thank you. My truck does not have the explorer package. It is A stepside SWB with A 302.

Well then either some one put a hood from a truck with a Explorer package on it or cut the hole for a none OEM hood ornament.
