Def and regen problem

Took big blue into dealer this AM. Was doing regen about every 100 miles. Then got def fill msg at 500 miles. In about 100 freeway miles got fill in 200 miles. Tried filling def, figured it would be 4 gal. After about a gallon it ran out of neck. Teck didn't find anything but the help desk said to reprogram computer. Weird

that is weird. Not the def issue so much as the regens.

Did the reprogramming work?

I think sometimes the sensors for the def get confused.

According to the help line. 60-500 miles is normal regen distance. Some range!
Haven't traveled yet. So don't know if worked yet.
Wish the def tank had a gauge like on our buses.

I'd expect unloaded regens around 200 miles.

My 2014 would average about 200 miles or so, that was alot of unloaded miles though.

I had kind of the same experience except the computer said it was going to shut the truck off in 50 miles and itproceeded to count down rather quickly all the way down to 10 miles. Thing is the DEF was full I just filled it up. It did reset itself when I turned the truck off but the next day it started the countdown again. I deleted and solved that problem.

Thanks Crystal! We are planning on a 2500 mile trip after Christmas. Getting out of cold weather and going to Disneyworld for a week.

Wish the def had a gauge like on my school bus. It did the same thing only could watch it and fill anytime without messing up computer.

After computer reset. Now I don't have electronic shift indicator. Any ideas or should I return to ford service for another reset?

Shift to manual and it should pop up. Mine does the same thing with the latest calibrations.
