i just have the smaller wattage ones and i really dont notice any huge difference with the higher wattage ones in my friends trucks... the high beams are useless BTW, but i never really used high beams anyways. I just wired my light bar to a relay with the high beams as the trigger...convenient built in switch which adds some extra light.

Id like better light output. Almost got hids but i didnt want to be that guy... the one that i hate that blinds me in oncomming traffic. Wonder what the light output is on the incandesants. Been thinking of getting new bulbs since mine are 5+ yrs old

I am thinkin hard, I just burned out a PIAA extreme couple days ago and had to put back an original bulb. It sucks compared to the PIA. My debate being I might be trading this truck ya premium on exchange in a few years. I wonder what light bulb the new SDs take? I live in a small town and drive a lot in the dark as winter is oh about 8 months here. Really appreciate the link, you can't find this stuff up here in I Canada. I will probably pay a premium on exchange and duty but these look worth it!

yes i have lifetime leds installed as do all my friends with LEDs. mine are great, although i have gone through 2 sets in over a year (one only lasted 2 weeks) but the warranty is no questions asked and always get a new set out pretty quick. i love the headlights, just instant on...no warmup or anything like HIDs. theyre crazy bright

They say not recommended for DRLs. They are good for 10 volt to 32 volt DC. I lost a PIAA low beam, but it was on the drivers side. Would think voltage on passenger side where alternator hits the first battery more likely. Hope he responds. I too would like to see a light output comparison if anyone has time.

Glad to see these guys stand by their warranty. I got a bunch of LED's from Retro Solutions and have had nothing but problems with them and the second the year warranty was up they are unwilling to help. You would think after having to send them back twice during warranty would count for something when they die again right after. Just a heads up for you guys planning on other LED's around your truck. They are awesome when they work but when 3/4 vehicles I have outfitted faild the odds are against you, atleast with Retro's lights. Maybe would have had better luck with chinese ebay led's for a fraction of the price.

Yes its needed.The large cylinder ring thing that holds the factory bulb in is too long. I simply spent about 30 seconds with a dremel (a sawzall, band saw, hand saw, really any cutting device would work...) and was good to go. They still hold the factory bulbs in if needed. im not sure why they are so long to begin with

yes exactly, youll see it and instantly know. Theres a large cylinder lock ring that slides over the bulb and holds it in place. Its simply too long, and hits the housing on the LED for the fan. Its simple

Thanks for the help. Can't wait to get these in. I hate sitting at a red light beside a more modern car. My headlights look about like somebody's lit a candle and set it on my bumper.

When I finally break down and replace this truck, I'm sure I'm in for a shock. Back in the day I went from a '69 Camaro to an '84 Honda Accord. I think there been about the same amount of improvement in trucks since '03 as there had been in those 2 cars.
