When I went with a 230 amp Powermaster I upgraded the cables and used a 250 amp breaker. The breaker allows you to troubleshoot the problem without continuously blowing fuses. I also switched it off when I was having an over charging issue.

I am having no luck finding any place around here that makes cables.
I did find a place on line that has stock replacements for 102.00 + shipping. I really hate to pay that much, but I don't see any alternative.
I'm still going to do the alternator upgrade tho.

You can buy jumper cables like I did and make your own cables. It's a lot cheaper. Just make sure they are copper. There are cheap aluminum wire jumper cables from china out there. You can buy a heavy duty terminal crimper or use a vise.

Do you have a snow plow shop anywhere near you?
Do you have a boatyard anywhere near you?
Do you have a welding equipment shop anywhere near you?
Do you own a vise and a propane torch?

If yes to any of the above then you really aren't trying too hard to solve the problem.

We're talking 6-gauge cable with ring terminals, right? How long do they need to be?

- They also offer 12 inch long ones, and cables with different ring sizes.

Am I the only one with 2 cables plus 2 other smaller wires pigtailed on the positive side that runs to a molded 2 wire set up on the solinoid?
I don't want some afro engineered get up on my truck.

If you are going 3G it's a single wire. You can't make a cable and are accusing us of "afro engineering?"

You can get everything from NAPA to make your own. Some of them will make them too, depends on the store.

You can even order bulk wire and lugs online. That's usually what I do.

Also check out local car audio places. Probably don't want to use over priced car audio wire for it, but they can make them up.

Man I started out doing this, but have you priced good jumper cables lately? Holy heck they aren't cheap anymore. I've found buying bulk welding cable online to be a much much much cheaper option.
