Picked up a bottle at the dealer a couple days ago. I put about 6 oz in the tank and filled up. After about 1/2 a tank the lie o meter is saying 18.3! Usually it's around 16.8-17.0-- which gives me about 15.5-15.8 mpg hand calculated. I'm anxious to see what the numbers are when I refuel but if it stays on track, that's a pretty good increase in economy.
Anyone else have this kind of improvement? Btw, I got fuel at my usual place.
My truck liked it also . MPG gains were a little more modest (.5-.7) but it runs better, sooner on a cold start using the addative, I think that's where the improvement came in. Fuel consumption is crazy high for me on a cold start.
Always see a 2-3mpg gain when I use it. Sometimes I just cant get to dealership before they close and I have to go a few tanks with out it,I always buy 5-10 bottles because of that. Definitely notice the difference every time.
The engine in both my trucks ran noticably smoother. My Dad took Rudolph to Louisiana and pulled 19.4 mpg coming home. 6 hours to Houston.
The Monster ran noticably better even with questionable injectors. Since replacing the injectors with used ones and resealing them, the truck runs night and day better and much smoother with the PM-22 additive.
It's really the only one I'd recommend for people who's trucks I work on. It does a great job of lubricating things and bringing thr cetane up to acceptable levels and it's recommended by Ford.
Oddly enough, it also cleaned things up on some of the questionable injectors I had. I can't think of any additives that successfully did that or atleast bought me time.
You got me to thinking about this. In the past when I pulled the EGR valve
the soot was less and just a bit softer. Now that I have the EGR tuned to an off state
it does not show at all but I agree that the engine does seem to run better.
I use Amsoil Diesel Injector Cleaner and their Cetane Boost as well in every tank and you can notice a much smoother idle and acceleration than without it. Also, my MPG increased as well 1-2 miles per gallon compared to running straight diesel # 2.
When I had my 05, I used both the pm-22 and DK. Never really noticed any diff. with either to include mileage. When I got my 6.7 I used up my existing stock and quit using the stuff. I never noticed a diff. on the 6.0 or 6.7. If I lived where it freezes I would def. use the white bottle.
Without using PM 22, my EGR valve was completely plugged after 17k miles. I started using it back in '07 and this was the first time I cleaned the valve 40k miles later.
