I seemed to lose about 2 mpg when the winter blends came out. in Sept / Oct. Then when it got colder out I seemed to lose about another 2 mpgs. That is with more idling time to warm up, etc. But it seems to me the fuel gave me about 2 mpg's less. That is with Power Service winter blend in every tank.
fun fun, I tried asking the attendent when I filled up tonight if it was a winter blend diesel... talk about a blank look. The guy prolly thought I was smoking something with the look he gave me. So I gater no way to know for sure.
Some of the stations around here have intellignet enough people to know what fuel is in the tanks and they will know if you ask. Other places will actually have signs up for the winter blend. It probably isn't as easy to tell in the warmer climates, but I would say that all diesel we have here is winter blend right now and has been for 4 or 5 months.
