Will a 93 f350 cab and 7.3 engine go on a 91 frame? if so what modifications are needed? or what year cab and engine will bolt right up to a 91 frame.
Thanks

depends on what frame you are using.
if using a gas F250 or 350 frame, yes it will as long as you change the engine mounts and towers.

if a F150 frame, it will work but you are going to have to do stiffening on the frame.

As long as they are the same cab(reg ca to reg cab, super to super, crew to crew)
YES. but you can not intermix.

But the problem comes in the wiring harness and how they pass thru the cab are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. You would want a 87-91. (92-97) are different

I have a 91 superduty with a diesel, what I want to do is replace the cab complete and the engine is shot, so I am hoping to find a decent f350 and swap the complete cab/ front assembly and engine. finding a nice 87 to 91 is not so easy as most are pretty worn so I was wondering if there were options for later years as more are available.

the newer cab and engine will bolt rite on. the one thing you will have to work around is the front bumper mounts. but that is minor fabrications ot put newer bumper on an older frame. if you find a newer powerstroke truck that will give you the extra power of the powerstroke engine .

any cab from 83? to 97 will bolt on the frame. when i said a newer powerstroke setup i was referring to the 94 1/2 to 97 with powerstroke engine. this setup will give you the computerized engine with more power, and all the proper wiring to connect it.

83 to 94 1/2 was IDI engine, 94 1/2 to 97 was direct injected powerstroke engine.
you will need the cab that is related to the engine to make everything work.
the only thing i am not sure about is if the 91 Dana 80 ABS tone ring and pickup will work as a VSS signal for the 92 and newer speedometer setup.

Thanks for that information, I will have to look into the speedometer, how about the bolt up to the ZF5 transmission in the 91?

just use the proper clutch for the engine. the ZF is the same between IDI and powerstroke.
there was a switch from the ZF-42 to the ZF-47 somewhere in the mix, but they will swap.
the difference between the two is in the gear ratios.
