Does any body know if the 73-79 regular cabs long beds will swap onto a 99+ regular cab long bed f250 or f350 frame? super cab onto 1999+ super cab f250 or f350 frame? crew cab onto a 99+ crew cab frame? Thanks.
I think you are going to get the same answers here as you got on the 67 72s you were asking about. Get a tape measure and start checking , i don't think it will work out good. Of course with enough money and time you can make almost anything fit , but would it be worth it ?
Seen 79 regular cab on a 89 f-150 frame and another on a 94 F-150 frame this summer but in both cases they used the frame and full drive lines and then just modified a dent side body to fit the frame. If you are looking to use just the frame it will be alot more difficult.
I seen a 73 body on a diesel 4x4 2000 ish frame and running gear. They even swapped in the newer dash and steering column.....
The biggest hurdle was the 73 cab firewall and hood hinge mount area. That had to be modified like crazy to clear all the radiator and intercooler diesel stuff.
#1 is start measuring the old body mount distances and widths and compare to the newer frame.
