07 EB - "lumpy" idle after phaser lockout install

I just installed the Livernois cam phaser lockout kit on my wife's 07 EB with about 140k miles. Solved the cam phaser rattling deal. But now, the motor has "lumpy" idle like it might be if there was a racing cam or something in it. There are no DCT's displayed at all. The way I understand how the variable timing worked was the VCT solenoids would regulate oil pressure to the cam phasers. It seems like with the lockout kit installed, a bad VCT would have no impact on timing anymore since the cam phasers are locked out. Am I thinking correctly on that? If not, should I look at VCT's? One of the codes that I had in the DTC history before I re-programmed the computer with the lockout kit tuner was P0345, camshaft position sensor bank 2. That code was cleared and is not present anymore. The motor runs perfectly normal with any amount of throttle applied.

Any thoughts?

Maybe your cams were broken in the more aggressive mode and you locked them in that way.?

How is your gas mileage?

After the lockout install it seems like the mileage has gone down about 1 MPG.

If you aren't noticing any issues and can live with the 1 mpg drop, I wouldn't worry about it. I think I would enjoy the new sound too, probably too much. The 5.4 will likely always be my favorite gas V8. I really miss mine.
