My 95 f350 won't shift when there is power to the battery. but the strange thing is that it randomly does be able to shift again. stumping me any help would be awesome thanks!
What do you mean power TO the battery? Is your battery shot and not holding a charge? If so replace it before troubleshooting anything electronic on your truck.
found some mice leftovers in the dash after it was sitting for a few months. so just took it back out to clean out and check wires. found a slightly exposed wire but it doesn't seem like its bad. im going to put the dash back in tomorrow morning then try and see if its still happening.
cant find the wire for the brake light switch either. had another post about that. looked up and down that wiring harness but couldnt find which one fits. any pic of the connector would help. i didnt think being a 95 it controlled the shifter as well. first obs ford.
Yes it does control the shifter interlock. If you unplug the shifter solenoid then that will bypass it so you can move the truck around while working on it.
found the brake switch wire today. that must have been it. cleaned the mouse remains out of the dash so have to put that in and wire everything back up then it should work. thanks for the help guys! i appreciate it
