while installing my hydra, I found a bullydog
Quick question guys, im installing my Hydra chip.....while pulling my PCM in my truck for the first time ever, I now realize it has a Bullydog chip installed.
It says On the circuit board
BULLYDOG
Technologies
Rev.2
1/01 KK
there is a sticker on the black chip that says "4 Bank X14"
Anyone know anything about this. Any monetary value for it? Im not gonna use it so may as well sell it if its worth something.

and im going to bet it never worked either, because the PO didnt remove the silicone from the plug on the PCM........seriously I dont know who the PO was. I got this truck from The Bank as a repo....but whoever the PO was, he was a complete idiot...I have found some total bonehead things on this truck

I thinking it worked; looked like the right rear tire had less tread than the others. Agreed, PO was not a good caretaker of the rig.
Don't get over zealous with cleaning the silicone off the connector, can make a whole new problem.
Bullydog tunes are considered "canned" but I really do not know their rep. You'll have access to better tunes with the Hydra.
Check CL for your area, proceeds from the Bullydog will get you more PBR than is healthy.

I dont know.... when I got the truck it had the Edge Evo 2 installed, and set to the the second setting, 80 HP I think it is....so im thinking he installed the Bullydog and thought it didnt work, and then put the edge in. which is probably why I had to have the trans rebuilt less than 2 months after I bought it lol
I still have the edge, just use it for gauges now.
I dont think he didnt even attempt to remove the silicone.
Still sittin here, carefully removing it

It's difficult to clean the edges off the PCM without going too far. You can use caulking remover from the hardware store with that ScotchBrite pad in the Hydra kit, just don't slop it around. I use Isopropyl alcohol to clean the contacts, once the silicone is gone. I tinned all my contacts to play it safe.
