I have a 2003 V10 X with 137,XXX and was looking around the engine bay and I think this is the PCV valve. I see that there are two different ones, which one do I need? Also I need to replace the hose too, this is the label off the hose.
Also checked the oil and had to add 2.5qts. It has 4,200 miles since last oil change. Is that a lot or normal?
I have read that the PCV valve could be causing the oil usage/burning. Also imaging 5w20 synthetic Motorcraft oil.
I can't tell from your picture what I am looking at. Yes a stuck PCV can increase oil consumption. Check inside the hose for oil infiltration. Also only use Motorcraft replacement PCV valves. I used an aftermarket one and it failed within a few months. I replaced it with Motorcraft and had no issues since.
