I am getting ready to start the v/b code spring modification and will also be installing 3" icon brackets. The extended sway bar links that came with the icon box kit are straight and the existing links on the excursions are curved to clear the leaf spring. I asked icon about this and they just stated that they never had an issue with the links and have sold 1,000's of kits. I'm not into the install yet, but it seems like the icon links are going to have clearance issues. I guess I could just flip the mounts on the existing and that may be enough length. After searching the web, I could not find any answers. Does anyone have some insight here? Thanks
I haven't worked with the Icon lift or those straight links but flipping the upper mounts to the bottom of the frame should get you the three inches you need.
My front is lifted 3 7/8" over stock and my front sway bar is still in the stock configuration with no unwanted contact or problems.
The body of the Icon link is certainly straight but the ends are at an angle, that is why they work. So the stock link is curved, not the strongest shape possible. My end links have been on for years with zero issues. No clearance problems.
Thanks for the input. I do see the slight angle on the ends. We ended up flipping the mounts for now but I may try to install the icon links after all.
Heh Tom / WE3ZS - my Ex looks a lot like yours with a lot of clearance over little tires, so where is the picture with the 35" Nittos noted in your profile?
I am looking at tires and wheels now, it definitely needs them!

These are wearing great, ride smooth, handle very high axle weights perfectly and are the quietest truck tires I've ever had or driven on, perfect for a on-road only tow rig like mine.

Looks great! I am looking at 20" wheels and Toyo AT2 35's. And to close the loop on my original topic, we flipped the brackets on the front and used the icon links on the rear stabilizer. I will post the obligatory photo later. It was a bear of a job but well worth it!
