they did not come in that year factory however the mounts for a 351 and a 302 are exactly the same so it is possible to have a 302 swapped into a f350 that had a 351.
My 86 F250 is an EFI 302. What research I did said that all 302s in the trucks were EFI in 86. Started as an option in the F150 in 85 and became standard in 1986. But I could be misinformed.
My recollection agrees with ctubutis in that the 302 was never offered in a F350 or larger, but 300s were offered in F350s, F600s, dump trucks, UPS vehicles, etc.
See that's what I thought. I'll find out though. Guy didn't know what year the truck was either. It's a 86. That solid front axle gives that away. 351 were carb at that time no?
An F-100 is a half ton.
An F-150 is a heavy half.
An F-250 is a 3/4 ton.
An F-250HD is a heavy duty 3/4 ton (but often the "HD" is "silent")
And when I ordered my '85 F-250HD new in '84 I could have had the 302 EFI in an F-250, but I ended up going for the 2 bbl 351W with no cat in an F-250HD.
So I can't go until Saturday. Are there any brochures or product information confirming this? We all know how ford threw stuff in at the end of model years and wE all know it could have been swapped but any hard evidence out there?
