engine still starving for fuel after rr

I just put a regulated return system, two external filters and two fuel pumps, and I am still have problems.

Under acceleration driving it drops to almost 20 psi and that only 1/4 throttle.

3/4 throttle drops to 10 psi and barely idel. Died twice a block away from my house of test drives.

Tank is done with mods, new cps, icp, and ipr.

Any help what I should look into next would be much appreciated.

Oh forgot to say the is no fuel leaks. At least when it idels at 60 psi I figured it be spraying out if there was one.

One strange I noticed is the aux stock electric pump gets constant high 12 almost 13 volts, and my stock mounted pump only gets low 12 and varies bad in voltage when it wants to die.

Stock located pump has wired into stock harness.

Aux pump is power via switch off a key on circuit.

Tank is full of diesel

Just don't know what to try next

Sounds like you know you have to hunt down some electrical issues. It could be the power supply or ground. Run some resistance checks with a Multimeter and identify some resistance in the circuit.

Hm. What kind of filters and where are they mounted? RR kit from known supplier or homebrew? Any chance the line from the tank got pinched off on reassembly?

Two filters and pumps - I'd need to see how they are configured, both in pictures of what they are and in a diagram as to how they are configured.

I have read about many homebrew designs that fail, even some professional designs that fail after a short time. Designing a pumping/filtration system isn't as simple as slap on some stuff that you want in there and expecting it all to work.

The biggest problem we face is the vacuum from the tank to the pump. Getting too fancy here, or skimming over the smallest detail kills fuel pressure right quick.

I will take pictures when I get home.

I get 60 psi at idel. Set with the regulator from fuel lab.

They are just two napa filters well get part number

Two super duty stock fuel pumps

All rr fitting and hose is from hydraulic shop, Parker supply, great guys

It goes fuel tank to first water/fuel filter to first aux pump to second filter to stock located pump to regulated return on engine to regulator to return to tank

Hope that didn't get confusing

All hose is diesel rated steel braided nylon or keylar wrapping.

Sounds like everything is in a "series". I would have done tank to a pre pump filter (strainer), paralleled the pumps, post pump filter, on to the supply side of the heads, then out to the return regulator from heads back to tank. I did mine that way, but with a single pump in the stock location.

Filter before the pump, not a strainer type? That is precisely why I asked. You are not the first to try this - how do you think I got the pictures above? That's my own handiwork.

Waiting for pictures. Sounds like something is pinched or blocking the flow under power.

I not understand its just a little napa fuel water seperator. Before the first pump??

Pictures will help when I get off duty

A preFILTER is likely creating too much restriction on the inlet to the pump. Pumps are good at building pressure, but they suck at... well... sucking. If you were to draw air in for a breath, would you rather do it through a sponge or a screen door?
