i'll be painting inside and out of my 65. what type paint should i use? basecoat/clearcoat, acrylic enamel, etc.? i see the local body repair shops always wet sand and buff clearcoat. how could you do that on interior?
thanks
When I painted my 64 Galaxie Skylight Blue, I used acrylic enamel on all the interior surfaces, then masked off all the parts and put basecoat/clearcoat on all the exterior. Lots of masking and planning but it turned out great.
Use urethane single stage if it's a solid color, urethane base/clear if it's metallic. If you shoot it right it'll be slick enough and won't need wetsanding/buffing.
This is urethane straight out of the gun, no buffing.
wow, that looks good. i'll just bring my truck on over to you when it's ready.
i'll be painting holly green/white to match the one i drove in high school.
i'm thinking about lexus starfire pearl for the white.
is there a way to get holly green pearl to match?
thanks
The CAD plating on you tailgate handle is a little too shiny. Do you want the name of my CAD plater? We call him Chris. Short for Christ. He's God like. Lol.
