Rust Treatment

What is everyone's opinion on rust treatments? I need to paint the frame of my Ranger and I have no idea what to buy.

Ospho. $27 per gallon or $14 per quart on amazon.

use a wire brush and pressure wash to get the rust scale off, then spray the ospho on. when the metal turns flat black, it is treated.
then you just prime and paint.
ospho's active ingredient is phosphoric acid.
when applied to rust, it converts the rust from iron oxide to iron phosphate.
i did a sample 7 years ago on the steel plate deck on my car hauler.
it has been sitting in the weather since then, and the test area is still flat black where the area around it is solid rust red/brown.
