1992 E-350 7.3 transmission dipstick length
new van to me....changed transmission filter today and saw that the end of the dipstick was way down in the pan....which explains why the level readings never made sense....does someone have the actual length that the dipstick should be..thanks...Benny

Sorry no one has answered this for you in a few days---thought someone would jump in.
I can't give you specific lengths of the dipstick but I can relate that the proper fluid level is just at the point where the pan meets the transmission case. I don't know this is gospel across the Ford auto transmission line but perhaps its something to build on?
You might also post this same question in the forum discussing auto transmissions, clutches etc: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum69/
