I here ya, I get so tired of the CB Rambo's.
There was a rumour about 6-8 years ago that somebody caught up with one at the Flying J in SLC. I guess he was a typical trash talker and then started whistling on 27.195 through a heater and was tearing up the entire band. Persons unkown proceeded to cut a V notch in his lower lip with a pair of side cutters. I think that would just about take care of any future whistling problems.
For those that might not know, there is a full channel gap between 19 (27.185) and 20 (27.205), which is 27.195. There are other gaps in the lower 23 but I can't remember off the top what they are.
For my mobile use, it's a HR2510 into a 16 pill Pirate and twin Terminator antennas, I gotta run battery cable to the Pirate. I justify that much overkill becuase I spend a lot of time year round in the Rockies where cell phones just don't cut it.
Oh and another thing....nice lookin' truck Alan.I did.
>Oh I see....you're just better
>than the average cb'er so you're allowed to "take liberty"
>with the law.
Actually I figure I am below average, I don't have the fancy echo box, talk back, built in animal screams or use the roger beep.
>No one else can be heard but by golly you will
>be, right?
Well, yeah, uh, that's the point to the whole thing. If I ever come upon you after you've crashed when it's 20 below and visibilty is about 30 feet, I bet you too would be happy that I have it.
>Well, have fun with your illegal little set-up
>there "good buddy". Never mind that you could be causing
>interference through harmonics or in other ways to legal
>transmissions such as ambulance equipment, police, amateur
>radio,
I figure all of the above to be an asset.
>or just other folks who didn't know that if they were
>one of the priviledged few they too could run 20,30,or 50
>times the legal output on their little rad shack special.
Uh, how about 500 times and it's a Uniden, not Radio Shack.
>You may be a mighty fine fella
Thanks!
>but all you're doing by being
>using illegal equipment is making it more difficult for
>those who "play it staight". I'm off the soap-box
>now....waiting for the blast...
No blast, just a damp fart
> Oh and another thing....nice lookin' truck Alan.
Thanks again!
it's just that when ya have the power, ya gotta use it wisely, besides, it makes for a convo started when you can dim your lights (and your neighbors) just by keying your mike!

That's telling em *falls off chair again*
