Carburetor or?????
I have a 72 ford f100 302cu with a 2bbl Motorcraft 2100 carburetor with electric choke and automatic transmission..
I had the truck parked for a while but always ran it and put fuel stabilizer in the gas along with dry gas. I take it for a ride after warming it up and as always it ran great and when I got back. I let it run for a 30 minutes. I turned it off and put seafoam in the tank with fresh gas and the next morning it would not start. I checked for spark excellent gas was fresh so went to the electric choke it works fine. I pull the plugs and they are fouled so I ended up giving the truck a complete over haul even a new battery. So I start it and it runs great for a hour then just stalls. Even warm it's hard to start I crank and it's like old airplane it will spin like there is no compression then it will start to act like the battery is going dead and fires up. I Rev it for a bit and it runs great so I ended up rebuilding the carburetor. It does the same thing but this time when running for a while the carburetor pops once and dies. I checked and rechecked the carburetor floats and everything is perfect the only thing modified was the distributor points changed to electronic.
I am at a loss and the worst is I have been around cars my whole life and went to technical school and worked for ford and worked for the FBI as a automotive tech. I have researched and nothing and I did put fresh plugs in and me being the 2nd owner is worse. The timing is and chain working fine.
