Harmonic Balancer Puller for an 08??
Okay, looked a bit further. I found a document "Q167R1.pdf" on fleet.ford.com that includes this item on the second page of the bulletin:
Models Affected: 2008 and Beyond F250-550 Super Duty, F-150, Expedition, Navigator, and E-Series equipped
with the 5.4L engine.
Description:
2008 F250-550 Super Duty, F-150, Expedition, Navigator, and E-Series equipped with 5.4L engines are built with a
new crankshaft damper that does not have drilled/tapped holes to mount an aftermarket spider bracket. 5.4L
engines built after 9-27-07 have the crankshaft damper without the drilled/tapped holes. This concern only applies
to aftermarket users that are required to attach a PTO spider bracket.
The design of the new 5.4L production damper, 7L3E-6316-AA, is similar to the 4.6L-3V engine. You can use puller
#303-D121 from Rotunda Tools for removal of the damper. This new production damper was issued from 9-27-07,
and replaces the older damper, 2L7E-6316-A4C. For applications desiring PTO abilities, the special service damper,
part number 7L3Z-6312-A, will be required.

Up-fitters will be asked to call 1-800-ROTUNDA Option #1 to order the kits. Another option is through the Ford
Fleet website, www.fleet.ford.com, if they have a FIN Code.
Solution:
Customers may purchase a replacement crankshaft damper (7L3Z-6312-A) which has the drilled/tapped holes from
their Ford dealer. Ford dealers may reference Special Service Message (SSM) 20149.
Note: The WSM for the 2009 includes the instructions for the version dampener you have.

The rentals at various big box auto supply houses are too large for this application.
I ended up using a 4" Pro-Grade 18212 brand 3 jaw puller (Because the jaws were the only thing that fit inside and grabbed the tabs) The 4" center screw wasn't long enough to make contact with the crankshaft and pry it away. SO I ALSO USED a Wilmar W137P 6" 3-Jaw Gear Puller. I only used its center screw, it's almost twice the length and fit the threads of the 4" puller perfectly. Together it cost $12.99 + $18.83 (popular online jungle named retailer) for a total of $31.82 for my harmonic balancer puller as opposed to the $94ish factory tool.
