2001 Ford Ranger O/D Light Flashing
Am having a problem with my 2001 ford Ranger v6 and the O/D light flashing.
Whats causing this and how much will it cost to fix. drove 25 miles from work at 50 MPH at 2500 rpm wont go into O/D. Cant afford a large expense and need the transportation to get to and from work. HELP!!!

What causes that is when the computer sees something wrong with the transmission system. Without knowing what codes are stored that's all the detail I can provide. Take it to a good independent shop or a Ford dealer to get the codes read. The places that read codes free CANNOT read these codes.
If you ignore what's wrong now I guarantee that you will need a new transmission. Right now it could be a $20 fix.
