Well I bought this truck at the end of August with 42000 miles. 2 weeks after I bought it II had a check engine light come on. It was P0405 I believe. Took it to the dealer and got it fixed under emissions warranty. Fast forward to this morning I get a code on the way to work. Got it checked out after work and its P0401. I plan on taking it back in next week. Is the egr a common problem with these trucks? It doesn't sit and idle and I roughly drive 70 miles a day. This is the second time I have had a egr problems with this truck. I'm thinking about an h&s programmer to delete the egr if this is a common problem. Thanks

Hi F250_6.7,
Let me know how things go at the dealership next week. If you need me to jump in and help after you get a diagnosis, just send over a PM with your details. I'll need your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership.
Well took it to the dealer today and they ran the scan tool on it. They confirmed egr insufficient flow. They said there is a tsb on it but the emissions warranty does not cover the egr cooler. They go it strange because its there for emissions. They told me it would cost at minimum 900 and that's if no bolts break removing the manifold. I will be sending crystal a message
They said they were shocked to see it wasn't covered and had no idea why. He said the looked it up and there was a tsb bulletin on possible failures of them and said they Ford will not cover it. He gave me the customer service number to complain and said some times they will work with you. He also said they have called before and complained about stuff like that and they covered it but when they had other warranty problems Ford would never get back to them. He figured I may have better luck
I don't have a warranty on the truck but the emissions warranty is still in effect but under warranty it doesn't say anything anything about emissions warranty covering it only esp and new vehicle limited warranty. So I guess I'm screwed but I will contact Ford since this is an emission issue.
Truck has roughly 1400 engine hours with only 200 idle hours it says on the dash. I don't idle it but maybe 5 minutes in the morning. I can't speak for the previous owner though.
As far as cleaning it I'm assuming it's the same procedure as replacing it. They said there are chances of some bolts breaking off in the manifold. I think I might just delete if I'm going this far.
