I am going to finally try and get the chrome grille in the 79. Might take off the carb and spray it down with carb cleaned and see if I can get it running on it's own again. It still needs a battery but getting it running again on it's own would be a strive forward.

I would think Mcdonough is close to being central.

I might have a date............. ??? details ???

It been a long, long, long, time. Did it for a living for about 2 years. If Rock Auto does not want the bent panel back. It will be a good pratice piece for welding and paint, if not it will be the one I cut out

It not the full bedside. I appreciate the offer. I got clecos coming. Got the welding helmet and a century clone mig. Next week when I make my monthly trip to Macon, I going to hit Harbor Freight and pick up the flange/ punch tool.

I am going to run .035 Flux core. To run gas I would have to buy the regulator, buy or rent a tank. For no more than I have to do I think it will be fine.

It be a new experience with an auto dark helment. Last time I welded they were just being introduced.

If it sounds like bacon it right

At the house I use just a Mig 125, no gas. Works fine. Its all in the surface prep and knowledge of how the welder works

Hell, id offer the use of my shop too. We have a spot welder machine, cuts time by 1/4

I bought an auto dimmer helmet. Best investment. I welded the axle on the 66 in half the time. Ive got a ton of welding jobs lined up, customers havent bought the metal for the projects yet.

Thanks for the offer. Time is not an issue for me. I went with a 175a 110v. I can hook up gas to it, if needed.

The heaves welding I ever did was 300amp DC spray arc. I was building buckets for Komatsu. Small plate was1/2. First day my eyes were cooked. Shied was too light, partner was the old guy never told me when he was going to start

I burnt two layers of cornea in each eye. Was blind for a week. Fortunately no permanent damage. My last for pay job. I was working on railhead securing prestress concrete beams to rail cars. Welding in the snow, got bite 5 times. 5 layers of clothes and still freezing. Said that was enough went back to wrenching

damn man. lucky you can still see. I know people that have Parkinsons and are blind. I love my helmet, adjusts for the type of welding, and has a grinding option (which I dont use)

Most of the time I look away (half the time I dont use a helmet)

I will tell ya, nothing beats the smell of spot glaze or gas in the morning. You have a diesel as I see, and I bet you love in the morning as I love my gasser as shes warming up

Yep she got all that cold diesel smoke first thing in the morning.

I worked with a guy in TX that only had half a lung. He welded galvanized for years with no resperator.

Welding gases are no joke
