Factory Shop Manual

Factory Shop Manual
As I wind down my business and stop working on RVs, I figure I may as well learn my truck so I have something to occupy my time. So far I have purposely put it off as I simply did not feel I had the time to do it right.
Being factory trained in what I do, my style is to read before taking things apart. When I work on something I have not encountered before, I obtain service manuals, etc. from manufacturers.
I follow this forum regularly, though I post seldom, however owning the Ford shop manual does not seem to be mentioned. I see where it is available online. Anyone using it, or maybe lots of folks using it and just not saying?

i have 2 of them, both ford service DVD's.
mine came from a private source i can not name, but it is the same ones the dealer uses and needs a special dealer code to activate and use.
they are very technical, and a bit of a pain to use because unlike haynes, chilton, or mitchell manuals, things have weird names and are hard to find.
plus they are date sensitive, so you will need to reset the date on your computer to the year the disc was made to get them to read.

See if this link works FactoryRepairManuals.com | Factory Service Manuals, Original Auto Shop Repair Books. There are several other sites that have new manuals advertised in various combinations.
There is also a manual for Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis that I picked up on ebay.
I searched "shop manual" along with Ford, Powerstroke, and the year of my dually.
I also like paper manuals. I have lots of manuals on my laptop for RV stuff, but looking at a laptop is often a pain while working so I print off the specific page/pages I need and have them in hand.

Another source for printed manuals is Service Manuals, Owner Manuals, Wiring Diagrams, Service Bulletins - Helm Incorporated
They have sold factory service and owner manuals for decades. The printed version is about $190.00 plus shipping

At one time, I bought all the shop manuals from a closed Ford dealership. I sold them here on FTE and on eBay. I moved them all very quickly for the most part. I kept a set for myself, and they come in VERY handy VERY often. I much prefer the print version to the CD version, and I have had both.

Helm, Inc. is the OEM shop manual company for Ford:
Helm Incorporated: Product Search Engine
Here you can buy anything that Ford put out to their dealerships (or whatever they still have on file). You can get paper, CD, or on-line.
I had a paper copy for my F-150 but I have electronic format for my F-250 (similar to tjc transport).
