Vin number

Ok I have a question about my truck vin number. I was looking up my vin to make sure I get the right parts whenever I order. From what I've read the 82 f100 should start with 1FD. My vin starts with 1FT? I seen where it says the 1FT is for 85- ?? So why does my 82 start with 1FT? I guess it's not a big deal just wondering why the difference! Any answer will be appriacated. Thanks.

I couldn't get a clear picture of tag on truck but I double checked the number! So I just took a picture of the title, hope it's what you need. Thanks

Where did you read it should start with 1FD? That is incorrect unless they're talking only about trucks completed by Centurion (or any other conversion company).

1FD is an incomplete vehicle, i.e. one that was sold to a customizer who finishes and sells it as a complete vehicle... this was real popular to do with vans in the '70s and '80s, and a bit with trucks.

1FT is a complete vehicle built at the factory.

Thank you now I got it! I believe it was on a parts website, I may have completely misunderstood. Thanks
