Okay guys so I change my motor in my 01 f350 ccsb to a forged rod one from a 97. When I put the thing in my inexperience cause me to screw up my torque converter in turn ruining my transmission. So after a rebuild I put it back in and she fit like a glove. Ever since I put the engine in i get a vibration at idle. After I realize I screwed up the torque converter I figured that was the cause of the vibration. But now I know the trans is in properly I still have this vibration I'm thinking it's the position of the motor. I installed new motor mounts when I put the motor in but they were quite a bit off from the original points on the cross member.
So im looking for some input about the motor mounts (INEXPENSIVE ONES) I used and if anyone has had issues with them. My only idea to rectify this was to reinstall the original ones and try to position the motor back where it was prior to the engine swap.
Or should I be looking elsewhere?
Thx for any suggestions
The injectors are from the 97 with a reprogrammed chip. Cct came back all good. The vibration goes away the very moment I touch the throttle. Which makes me question my theory that somewhere something Is touching the firewall etc.
I am curious as to why you went with the smaller injectors, but I would suspect something going on there with one of the cylinders not balancing out. That is not to say that there can't be something else causing the vibration, but I would start simple first. You did not answer my question regarding AE, do you have access to it or another diagnostic tool that can do a cylinder contribution test (CCT)?
I went with the smaller injectors because eventually I'm going to be putting hybrids in. So I wanted to get it tuned for singles. I'm taking my double shots and turning them into hybrids. After I figured out the selnoid problem I ran a CCT and it came back fine and the vibration was present. before I proceed any further I have to get it back over to the the shop to run it again. my reader does not have the ability to run those tests.
OK... I'm following now. The TS chip was reburned for your '97 sticks with the original electronics.
This sounds like maybe a little tune refinement is needed for idle. It happens. That's one of my base reasons for going with a chip that can have tunes emailed to me.
